The COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic has caused our practice to adapt so that we can still provide the necessary services to help maintain and prevent vision loss while at the same time providing for the safety and health of our patients and staff.

To keep our office environment safe for patients and staff, all patients will be screened with appropriate health related questions. Our office, as always, will be cleaned meticulously so that you can be assured of a safe environment.

To minimize potential exposures, we are asking family members who are accompanying patients to wait in their vehicles instead of in our office. We will only allow one family member in the office if the patient is visually impaired or otherwise handicapped and can not navigate without assistance.

Please maintain a 6 foot distance from other patients while in our waiting rooms.

All patients are required to wear a mask while in the office. We prefer you bring your own mask but if you do not have one, we will provide you with one to wear.

If you have had a potential exposure to COVID-19 or have symptoms of possible infection including fever, cough or headache and have an urgent problem, please do not report to our office but instead call so we can direct you to the appropriate hospital setting for evaluation.

During this unprecedented health crisis, we remain available over the telephone for questions that arise regarding your eye care. If you have a high-risk condition that prevent you from being seen in our office, please call us so we can advise the best course of action. We are providing telemedicine services for patients that are not experiencing problems or do not require treatment.

Though all of our joint efforts, we look forward to surmounting this crisis and working together to maintain your vision and health.

Sincerely,

Retina Consultants of Michigan
