COVID-19 UPDATE 

The COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic has caused our practice to adapt so that we can still provide the necessary services to help maintain and prevent vision loss while at the same time providing for the safety and health of our patients and staff. 

Effective immediately, non-urgent office appointments are being rescheduled to a later date. Our office will be reaching out to our patients to give new appointment dates. This process will take some time but please feel free to call our office if you have not heard from us. We will also be offering Telemedicine Services and will bill your medical insurance for that service. 

We will continue to see patients and emergency consultations, on a reduced level, in all 3 of our offices. Many of our patients require regularly scheduled eye injections to help maintain vision. Our patient population tends to be older and includes a high proportion of diabetics. We recognize this population is especially vulnerable to the coronavirus. In some cases, it might be best to postpone you scheduled injection for a period of time in an effort to reduce the risk of your exposure to the virus. Should any patient experience visual loss during this period, please call us, as we are available to discuss your case. You may need to be seen on an urgent basis. 

If you have had a potential exposure to COVID-19 or have symptoms of possible infection including fever, cough or headache and have an urgent problem, please do not report to our office but instead call so we can direct you to the appropriate hospital setting for evaluation. 

To keep our office environment safe for patients and staff, all patients who are seen with urgent problems will be screened with appropriate health related questions. Our office, as always, will be cleaned meticulously so that you can be assured of a safe environment. To minimize potential exposures, we are asking family members who are accompanying patients to wait in their vehicles instead of in our office. We will only allow one family member in the office if the patient is visually impaired or otherwise handicapped and can not navigate without assistance.  

Effective 4/7/2020- Per updated CDC guidelines we will now require all patients to wear a mask while in the office. We prefer you bring your own mask but if you do not have one, we will provide you with one to wear

During this unprecedented health crisis, we remain available over the telephone for questions that arise regarding your eye care. If you have one of the high-risk conditions that prevent you from being seen in our office, please call us so we can advise the best course of action.
